Cardinal Builders Ugly Bath Contest
Cardinal Builders is looking for the ugliest bathroom in Columbus. The winner will receive a complete, installed Nubath acrylic bathtub or shower liner system or tub to shower conversion valued at approximately $5,000.
How the Contest Works
The contest takes place in two segments between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010. Any homeowner in the Cardinal Builders service area (90 mile radius of Columbus, OH) is eligible to enter by submitting a photo and filling out an entry form on the Cardinal Builders website. Five finalists will be selected by Cardinal Builders. Beginning on October 1, 2010 the public will be allowed to vote via an online poll at www.cardinalbuilders.com. The finalist receiving the most votes by October 31, 2010 will win the prize.
How to Enter
1. Between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010, completely fill out the form to the right and upload a photo(s), or
2. Mail the same information to Cardinal Builders Ugly Bath Contest, c/o Cardinal Builders, 4409 East Main St. Columbus, OH 43213
3. Personally drop off the same information at the above location during regular business hours Monday through Friday.
Who Can Enter
1. Entrants must be legal residents of Ohio who are 18 years of age or older and have lawful access to the Internet and a valid e-mail address.
2. Employees of Cardinal Builders(collectively, “Sponsor”), their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible.
3. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Qualified entrants may enter as often as they wish.The contest begins October 1, 2009 and all entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. local time September 30, 2010.
4. To enter, access the online entry form at www.cardinalbuilders.com, select the Contest Tab and by attaching a photo of their ugly bathroom, giving their name, address, day time telephone number and address along with a short paragraph explaining why they should win the contest. If any contestant purchases a NuBath remodeling job prior to the contest ending and thereafter is chosen, qualifies and wins the contest, Cardinal Builders will reimburse such contestant winner the paid contract up to a maximum of $5,000.00 in cash or install a shower or tub overlay in a second bathroom for a retail value of $5,000.00. Entry constitutes an assignment to Sponsor of all intellectual property rights in the entry materials, if any. Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ names, hometowns, likenesses, and photographs for online posting, and/or any advertising and publicity without additional compensation.
5. Sponsor is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry, winner(s) or other giveaway information by Sponsor or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the giveaway or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE GIVEAWAY IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the giveaway if it becomes technically corrupted.
6. One winner will be selected Out of all entries received, the top 5 (five) finalists will be selected by a panel of at least three (3) Cardinal Builders judges based upon the bathroom which they judge to be the ugliest. The Judges’ decision shall be final. Starting October 1, 2010, the top 5 finalists will be featured on the Ugliest Bath Contest Voting page at www.cardinalbuilders .com for users to vote for a Grand Prize winner. Users can vote as often as they want until voting ends at 5PM October 31, 2010. The finalist receiving the most votes will be the winner of the Ugliest Bath Contest.
The Prize(s)
7. Winner will receive the Grand Prize which consists of a complete, installed NuBath Acrylic Shower NuBath Tub to Shower conversion or Tub Overlay with seamless wall system & fixtures. The approximate retail value of the prize is $5,000.00.
8. Winner will be notified by phone on or about November 1, 2010, at the telephone number listed on his or her entry. Winner will be required to complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Release within 3 days of the date of notification or they will be disqualified. If a winner cannot be reached, or if a winner does not return the Certification of Eligibility and Release within the designated time period, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.
9. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winner. The winner cannot assign or transfer prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value, including cash, for any prize, for any reason.
10. The winner is responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prizes based on the value of the prizes set forth in these rules.
11. Only one prize will be awarded per household. Individuals are eligible to win only one prize within any 90-day period, regardless of the number of giveaways entered. Winner must claim the prize by December 31, 2010 or the prize will be forfeited.

12. Odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries received.

15. This giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules. Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, offering, or administration of the contest, or in the announcement of the prize.
16. By entering, participants represent that they are eligible, and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, (b) to release Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, and (c) to Sponsor’s use of entrants’ personal information as described in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
